# Timerbeam > Timerbeam turns a deadline into a live countdown timer that can be pasted into an email. The timer is an image drawn at the moment the recipient opens the message, so it always shows the real time remaining, and once the deadline passes the same image URL shows an expired message instead. It needs no JavaScript, so it works in Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook and Yahoo. Timerbeam is a hosted service with a free plan. A saved timer can be edited after the email has been sent (deadline, theme, expired message) and every copy already sent picks up the change the next time it is opened. To use one in Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Brevo or any other email platform, point an image block at the timer's URL. Do not upload the GIF as a file: an uploaded copy freezes the countdown at the moment of upload. ## Pages - [Timerbeam](https://timerbeam.com/): What Timerbeam is, how it works, and pricing - [Email Countdown Timer](https://timerbeam.com/email-countdown-timer): Create a free email countdown timer in minutes.
